In 1962, Horace Fralin and Elbert Waldron went into business together.  The original plan was to develop a handful of lots in Southwest Roanoke County.  This small project quickly grew into a lucrative association for both men.  In the year to follow, Fralin and Waldron crossed over other frontiers as its size and reputation grew.  The construction and management of apartment communities began in 1968, and F & W Management Corporation was formed. 

For over 30 years F & W Management Corporation has been managing properties with interests spanning all residential and commercial segments:  assisted and conventional multifamily communities, condominiums, a resort and conference center, as well as office parks, shopping centers, and retail space.  Our diversity and level of knowledge and expertise is unequalled in Virginia and North Carolina, the states we currently serve.  We provide a full range of services from initial feasibility studies to total rehab services to lease up, and daily operations.

Currently, our portfolio consists of over 8,000 residential units, 500,000 square feet of commercial and specialty real estate.  This totals more than 4 hundred million dollars of prime commercial and residential properties and nearly 8 million square feet of commercial and residential real estate.  More than one-third of our entire portfolio provides for the marketing and management of market-rate conventional apartments.

The residential developments we manage range from single-family homes and duplexes to small and medium-sized properties, some with as many as 500 units.  At the present time, we manage 57 apartment developments throughout Virginia and North Carolina.

Through the F & W Management Corporation Learning Center we have provided over 10,000 hours of training for our own personnel as well as other commercial and property management firms in the region, offering classes ranging from technical training and certification to customer service workshops to computer skills training.  This dedication to continuous improvement of job skills and development of industry expertise ensures that our clients receive consistent, high quality service and support.
